About Little Texas
What [and where?] is Little Texas Ranch?
Nestled in the Catskills, in a sleepy little hamlet called Obernburg, New York, Little Texas Ranch is a piece of Sullivan County history.
Jim Greier opened Little Texas Ranch in 1961 as a Country & Western Dance Club and Restaurant - new home to the "Haylofters," - on his Grandparents' Sullivan County farm in Obernburg, New York. It quickly evolved into a Dude Ranch by popular demand, where guests from all over the world had a chance to become cowboys!
Ever since we closed our doors in 1987 to spend more time raising our three children, people have been asking us to reopen - and now we are!
Our dude ranch days are gone forever (that's a young man's business for sure!), but we've renovated the dance hall, bar & restaurant and are now catering weddings, parties, showers, luncheons - you name it! Click here to learn more about how to have your next party at The Ranch.
The "Haylofters" have evolved into "The Texans" over the years; the kids are grown and gone; we have a LOT more grey in our hair; but we're still looking forward to doing what we love - entertaining! If you'd like to order our CD "The Texans LIVE!", we've got a limited number available for only $14.95 (including free shipping & handling) - we accept paypal and are paypal verified
